If you follow me on Instagram, you know my obsession with faux plants. I even tried to make #fauxplantfriday a thing, after reading that faux plants were a decor trend for 2019.
And so I figured it was time to bring my faux plant obsession to my blog. (Though to be fair, I have been posting tiny faux Christmas trees for the last month and a half!) But while I’m sharing some faux plant love, I also have a confession…
While I’ve been pretty unapologetic about my love for faux plants, the truth is that I like real plants much better. In fact, I’ve always been a plant (and flower) lover. It’s just that, for most of my life (and despite coming from a family of ace plant growers), I’ve been cursed with a black thumb.
But I’ve decided that it’s time to change that. So while I’m not one for new year’s resolutions, this year is the year where I’m going to finally keep a real plant (or two) alive. (I did buy myself a cyclamen for my birthday back in October, and it’s still alive over two months later, so I do have hope that I can learn to keep more plants alive.)
In the meantime, I’ll still be loving on my faux plants. (Because that way I’ll have something green even if I do end up killing the real plants.) But I am going to try to integrate more real greenery into my home and studio as well.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to shop for plants on the Internet. Because apparently that’s a thing you can do! (I’ve already got my eye on a few plants from The Sill.)
And in case you were wondering, this vase is from The Object Enthusiast and the silver on steel stacking rings are available in my online store!
