I mentioned in this post that last weekend I went to Renegade Brooklyn to shop! (And to check on one of the members of my online mentorship program.) But that tiny planter wasn’t the only new piece of Elizabeth Benotti ceramics I brought home from the show!
I also picked up this gorgeous teal and striped planter. Technically it’s a hanging planter, but it looks so good on this shelf with my peperomia scandens that for now, that’s where it’s staying. It’s definitely a huge improvement over the boring plain white planter it used to live in. (Which you can see in this post.)
If you did take a look at that previous post, you’ll also notice that the painting behind the plant has changed too! That’s because I took my old abstract paintings down from that wall so I could really take a look at the new group of paintings that I’m working on.
And since I haven’t shared that particular painting on the blog yet, here it is:
Of course, I’m sure that painting won’t stay on the wall forever. I’ll definitely be moving things around as I make more work. But I’m starting to really love that my studio is a constantly evolving space, rather than something static.
And speaking of evolving, while I was taking pictures, I couldn’t help but play around with the styling of the full shelf. So for context, here’s that painting and plant with everything else on the shelves! (Though to be fair, I’m pretty sure I’ve already moved a few things around since I’ve taken this picture!)
But that’s the beauty of my studio space. I can move things around as I see fit! And since that’s the wall I see when I sit at my work table, it helps to constantly change it to give myself new things to look at!
