I was looking over my Instagram posts from the last year (I blame the end of year/end of decade reflection madness) and couldn’t help but noticing 1. that it’s been almost a year since I had to relocate my studio and 2. how funny it was that I seemed to think I would have the garden studio fixed by now.
Since it has been almost a year since I moved studio spaces, I thought it was only fair to do another update! (You can read the last one here.)
The bad news is, the garden studio isn’t any closer to being fixed than it was a year ago. (Though it is more cleaned out than in this post.) That’s because I made the decision to have a contractor do the work this time around (instead of the DIY route we went with last time) and my construction budget for the year went to replacing the AC unit for the studio this past summer. But I’m planning on bringing the contractor in this spring to repair the floor, so hopefully by this time next year (actually, I’m hoping for by November) that studio will be good as new.
In the meantime, I’m happily ensconced in the treehouse studio and working away. Clearly, it’s a little messier than when I first moved in, but that’s more my style anyway. (And as you can see, my stromanthe is still alive! Which for a recovering black thumb like me is a huge victory!)
And I’ve still got plans to turn the garden studio into a teaching space when it’s finished, so while the 2020 goal is simply to get the space back up and running, the 2021 goal is start offering classes and workshops! (And I’ll be sure to share here on the blog as I get closer to both of those goals!)
