It’s no secret I’ve been reading A LOT lately! Recently, someone in my online mentorship program asked what I did with all those books. And the short answer is, I keep them! The longer answer is that I like to write in my books (it helps me think) which makes it hard to do library books, sell books back, or give them away. But on top of that, I also like to have my books to revisit from time to time. And, I just really love to be surrounded by books!
So today, I thought it would be fun to share some of the bookshelves around my home. These certainly aren’t ALL my books (I’ve got plenty in my studio too) but this is a lot of them. I also decided not to clean up or style the shelves before taking the pictures. This way, you get the true, unedited view of what my life with books is like.
The first two images are the bookshelves in my living room. There are a few books in the living room that are technically my husband’s, but the vast majority of these are mine!
These next two images are of my dining room, which is essentially a library at this point.
And these final two are bookcases at the landing at the top of our stairs, which is a surprisingly roomy spot to stash a few books!
Of course, you’ll find plenty of plants and art mixed in with my books. Because if I had to some up my decorating style in three words, it would be books, art, and plants. Those are the things that, for me, really make a house a home, and what really make a room complete!
