Thanks to Trish for featuring my work on the Smashing Darling blog yesterday! And of course be sure to check out Smashing Darling for indie fashion finds.
unusual suspects
I’ll be at the DC Craft Mafia‘s Unusual Suspects Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, November 3rd in Bethesda, MD. You can view the entire vendor list here.
shop megan auman on smashing darling
This is the first of the shop announcements I promised so long ago. I’ve set up shop on Smashing Darling – a site for indie fashion. In my opinion, you can never have your work in too many places. I’ll be adding more items over the coming weeks, so keep your eyes out for those.
And as always, you can still shop my Etsy shop.

gretna
This past weekend was the Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show, and it went really well. Saturday was the perfect day for an outdoor show – not to hot, sunny, birds chirping – well, I didn’t hear the birds chirping because I was too busy selling things! The new necklaces were really popular – I’ll be posting the ones that didn’t sell in the shop this week. Sunday was not as good – rainy and cold – but it could have been a lot worse.
Today, I just want to take the day off – especially with the rainy weather. Buts its back to work – school starts next week and I’ve got to write my syllabi.
busy, busy bee
What a busy week its been! Between working in the studio, staying up late to work on my etsy shop, and two-a-day cross country practices (I’m helping coach the local high school team), I’m beat! I haven’t even had a chance to play with my new toy.
But no rest for me this weekend, I’ll be at the Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show on Saturday from 9 to 6, and Sunday from 9 to 5. (Booth B231). If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello. I’ve made some changes to the booth, and I’ll be showing the new line of necklaces.
Oh, and if you’re looking for some online fun, the Crafty Bastards Vendor Gallery is up here.
Earrings available here.
suddenly loving necklaces
Six months ago, I wouldn’t have made a necklace if you paid me. (In fact, I really didn’t even wear necklaces myself – which is probably why I never made them.) But in the last month (since returning from Ann Arbor), I’ve been bitten by the necklace bug. I’ve made at least a dozen necklaces so far, including this one, available now in my shop.
Expect to see more necklaces trickling into the shop in the coming week or so.
promo + tagged
I’m a girl who loves her promotional materials. This is the new postcard I ordered today. I’m trying to do more direct promotion of my etsy shop.
Oh, and I’ve been tagged by Annie as a Rockin’ Girl Blogger. Now I’ve got to choose five of my favorite Rockin’ Girl Bloggers. I tag Midge’s Mind, julie lake, Lynette Andreasen, Paper Flower Girl, and swallowfield.
props
I’m attempting to make my etsy photos more appealing, so I decided to include some props in with the jewelry. I spent the weekend spray painting things white – rocks, twigs, and scrap metal – and I’m now working on re-shooting all my work. I’m fairly pleased with the overall effect, which you can check out in my shop. (You can also view more of the pics that haven’t made it to the shop yet on my flickr site.)
100!
This is my 100th blog post! It’s been fun to see how my work has progressed since I started the blog, and its been really interesting to see how my studio has progressed. This is the wall that Joe built for me, now that I’ve finally hung some things up. I’m starting to really like my little studio space. (And perhaps one day I’ll learn to control the clutter.)
I know I promised some shop announcements when I got back from the lake, but they’ll have to wait until next week. I’ve got a lot of work to make for the show this weekend.
