It’s been a while since I’ve done a handmade mug post, so I thought I’d share this gorgeous mug by Bella Joy Pottery with some of my stacking rings in Emerald Green and a cozy sweater. I love that this combo could just as easily slide from fall to holiday appropriate, and I’m loving the play of all the similar but slightly different greens!
three holiday movies to make you laugh, sing, or cry
It’s only December 6th but I’ve already watched three Christmas movies. And given how much time we’re already going to be spending at home this holiday season, we’ll all probably be watching a lot more. The three movies I’ve watched so far definitely hit different moods, so I thought I’d round them up here to help you find your next holiday watch.
what I read in November
messy hair, bold lip, great new necklaces, don’t care
I haven’t had a haircut since February (thanks, pandemic) and while I have been wearing my hair down, when it comes to the studio, I’m now officially team messy pony. That’s even true when photographing new work, like this new batch of Modular necklaces I just released!
studio guest bedroom makeover
Today I’m going to let you in on a little secret. My current studio isn’t located in my house – it’s actually located in the old stone farmhouse I grew up in. (Which is about a mile from my current house.) And ever since I moved my studio to the farmhouse, I’ve been harboring a (sort of) secret dream – to fix up the house so that I can have small groups of artists and makers come stay for workshops and retreats.
five ways to wear two Modular necklaces
I designed the Modular Collection to be versatile and playful, so I figured it was about time I started making videos to show how fun these necklaces really are!
a little tour of some of my bookshelves
It’s no secret I’ve been reading A LOT lately! Recently, someone in my online mentorship program asked what I did with all those books. And the short answer is, I keep them! The longer answer is that I like to write in my books (it helps me think) which makes it hard to do library books, sell books back, or give them away. But on top of that, I also like to have my books to revisit from time to time. And, I just really love to be surrounded by books!
Modular statement necklace in Palm Springs, Part 3
I’m finally sharing the last batch of images from my trip to Palm Springs back in March! (Better late than never, right?!?)
This necklace has since sold, but you can check out other colorful necklaces from the Modular Collection in my online store!
art makes you happy
I took this photo in my studio on election day. I was stressed and anxious and trying very hard not to look at the news, knowing that we wouldn’t have definitive results for days. While trying to stay busy in my studio, I happened to glance up at this wall and couldn’t help but just smile.
Modular statement necklace in Palm Springs, Part 2
I’m still trying to catch up on sharing pics of my newest necklace collection from my trip to Palm Springs, um, eight months ago. (What can I say, it’s been a long year!)
This was an outfit I wore to Alt Summit (the conference I was attending) while on the trip, and I love how it all came together, with another dress from my favorite India brand, Nicobar, a jacket from Madewell that I’ve had for years, and this Modular statement necklace, which I just love.
