I had to laugh when I came across this article in the New York Times last week about how foundation is dead because a few days before, I took these pictures wearing only lipstick.
more self-portraits with plants and a sneak peek of the new Midi Modular Necklace
I’m not saying this is my favorite photo I’ve ever taken of myself, but I’m not NOT saying that. I will say that I had so much fun setting up this photo shoot to preview my new Midi Modular Necklace No. 1.
Something new is coming…
compare and contrast: Courbe threader hoop earrings in gold in regular and petite
After I made my original Courbe threader hoop earrings, I thought it would be fun to make a Petit version as well. And then I thought it would be fun to make both pairs in gold so I could photograph them with this burgundy dress and some philodendron cuttings. And I was right on all counts!
gold threader hoop earrings and a beachy baseball hat
I’ll admit I’ve never been a fan of baseball hats. Other hats, yes, but baseball hats, not so much. Something about the length of my hair for most of my life just never seemed to work with them. But now that my hair is long, I’m all in! Especially when spending time outside camping or on the water.
And since I photographed the Verdant threader hoop earrings in gold with a fancy dress when we were camping at the beach last week, I thought I’d show how you can wear them with something a little more casual – like a beachy trucker hat!
What I read in June & July
If I could sum up my reads for June and July, it would be books that were decently interesting but not super earth-shattering. The two biggest exceptions to that were The Future is Analog by David Sax, which you can read my thoughts on here, and The Power of Fun by Catherine Price.
Volupte threader hoop earrings in detail (with plants)
I wasn’t kidding when I said I had so much fun doing a photo shoot with my rhaphidophora tetrasperma (otherwise known as the mini monstera) the other day. In addition to all the portraits I shared yesterday, I got a lot of detail images of the new Volupte threader hoop earrings as well!
self-portraits with plants and Volupte threader hoop earrings
Sometimes you have an idea and you just have to go for it! I was watering my rhaphidophora tetrasperma (otherwise known as the mini monstera) and realized that the out-of-control vine it was growing was perfect for posing behind while I took some portraits wearing my new Volupte threader hoop earrings!
monstera adansonii and bronze plant stake
On our way home from the bay beach last week, we stopped at my brother’s house to say hello. And you can imagine my excitement when I saw how great my sister-in-law’s monstera adansonii was looking! I gave this to her as a cutting, and then I added this plant stake earlier this year to help tame this trailing plant. (Letting it trail isn’t an option with two boys under five and two dogs.) Since then, she’s been wrapping it around the plant stake as it grows, and the result is a full-looking, happy plant!
striped shirt, bold lip, and my favorite threader hoop earrings
As a designer, I probably shouldn’t play favorites, but I just can’t help it. When it comes to my new line of threader hoop earrings, the Volupte Earrings are hands down my favorite. I love that they’re big impact with almost no weight. I also love that I can wear them forwards or backward for even more versatility!
