I teased out a new batch of colorful decorative metalwork in my last post, including a few raised bowls, and I’m excited to share that this new batch is now available in my online store.
New colorful copper bowls (and trays) coming soon!
Before I went to the cabin last week, I spent a little time in the studio experimenting with a few more forms in my new collection of colorful decorative copper dishes. My favorite has to be this gorgeous little bowl, shown here stacked on top of two colorful trays!
Decorative metal dishes and Moon Mantra Deck
One more set of pictures from my trip to Dwellbox Treehouse Village last week! I couldn’t resist bringing along my Moon Mantra Oracle Deck from Alauna Whelan to style a few pictures with my new colorful copper dishes. And of course, pull a card! This one seemed pretty appropriate!
Decorative metal dishes in detail at the Dwellbox Treehouse Village
Last week, my friend Amber and I headed to Dwellbox Treehouse Village in Ohio for a reading retreat. (You can read more about that here.) Of course, I couldn’t resist styling and photographing my new colorful decorative metal dishes in detail in such a gorgeous space!
Books and bowls: an art reading retreat at Dwellbox Treehouse Village
A couple of months ago, I saw a post on Instagram to the effect of “I really wish I could go on a vacation where we just read books all day and then get together at the end of the day to talk about them.” I sent it to my friend Amber with a “seriously, we should do this” and she responded back with “we should go here” and a link to another IG post of a treehouse-style cabin in the woods.
Which is how, on Monday, I found myself and Amber with a car full of books, snacks, and some of my new decorative dishes on our way to a cabin in the woods in Ohio.
what I read in November
November was another month where I didn’t read as much as I would’ve wanted, but in my defense, I spent a week in NYC (where I bought lots of books but was too busy to do much reading), and then when I got home, I was so inspired I started making a whole new collection!
New colorful copper dishes! (Perfect for rings, jewelry, or just looking pretty.)
A few weeks ago, I spent a week in New York City going to museums, eating great food, and just generally absorbing all the art I could. I think it’s safe to say that all of that looking had me feeling inspired because I came home and decided to combine two processes I’ve been in love with the past year – making bowls and powder coating!
The result of this burst of inspiration is my first ever batch of little powder-coated dishes! While they aren’t food safe, they are perfect for holding rings and other jewelry or just as a little decorative accent in your home! And they’re available now in my online store!
What I read in October (with a video and a teaser about my book proposal)
Well, I think it’s safe to say that, just like September, I’m probably not getting around to a full write-up of what I read in October! So here’s my list of books I finished:
What I read in September
Well it’s almost the end of October and I think it’s pretty safe to say that a detailed round-up of the books I read in September is not happening. So instead, I’ll just share this picture and say that I thoroughly enjoyed each of these books!
what I read in August (plus an update on my book proposal, a new mug, and a new old hobby)
Well, we’re already ten days into September and I’m finally getting around to blogging about my August reads. But I have a good reason. I finished my book proposal! Or at least, it’s finished for the time being. Now is the part in the process where I wait, which means I have time to catch up on other things. (Like blogging and indulging in a new old hobby. More on that in a minute!)
