I’m loving all these detail shots of my new colorful chain necklaces laid out in my studio. The colors just feel so fresh and springy – exactly what we all need right now! (Click here to check out which color combos are currently available in my online store!)
living plant wall in my studio
I’ve been so excited to show off the new colorful stacking rings and bracelets that I almost forgot to share the living plant wall project I did recently in my studio! The wall directly behind my main workbench was one of the few spaces in the studio I hadn’t covered in art, and after coming across some spaces using WallyGro‘s Eco Planters, I knew I wanted to add plants to that particular wall.
After all, I’d almost completely surrounded my workbench with plants anyway, so why not continue on the wall?
green stacking rings + houseplant
I may not have a lot of green props (see my last post) for my new colorful stacking rings, but I’ve got plenty of houseplants!!
shades of grey (stacking rings)
Now that I’m making new colorful stacking rings, I’m excited about all the photo opportunities they provide. But as I was scouring my props and nail polish stash, I realized that I mostly own things that are grey. Like these grey M&Ms my friend got me for my birthday and that I’ve been saving for the perfect photoshoot opportunity. (Looks like I found it!) So until I can get my hands on some more colorful props and some different shades of nail polish, I’m leaning into the grey thing. Luckily, I’m pretty obsessed with the new grey stacking rings. (And can you blame me?!? If you’re as obsessed as I am, you can grab your own set in my online store!)
(Side note: if you’ve ever wondered about the grey vs. gray spelling thing, grey with an E is the British spelling and gray with an A is the American version. So technically, since I’m in the US, I should spell it gray, but I just really like the E spelling better, so I’m sticking with it!)
new colorful stacking rings
I should have known it would only be a matter of time until I had the urge to add color to my signature stacking rings! After a week of powder coating, I’ve now added the first batch of colorful rings to my online store! And the best part is, since these rings were made for stacking, I’ve put together a few discounts to make it better to buy more than one:
Buy any two of the colorful stacking rings and get 10% off with code TWO
Buy three colorful stacking rings and get 15% off with code THREE
Buy four or more colorful stacking rings and get 20% off with code FOUR (Five or more rings gets you automatic free shipping too!)
And the best part is you can mix and match colors and sizes to get the discount! So what are you waiting for! Click here to shop the colorful stacking rings now!
#mugshotmonday: Bella Joy Pottery and colorful chain bracelets
I’m always amazed by how what I’m focusing on in the studio can shift my attention. Right around the time I started making my new colorful jewelry, I noticed that Heidi of Bella Joy Pottery was playing around with lots of new colorful mugs. The truth is that Heidi’s work as always been really colorful, I just happened to gravitate towards her black and neutral mugs.
But as my colorful jewelry line coincided with a craving for color throughout my life, I was totally drawn to Heidi’s new work. So I bought myself this beautiful mug. (And I’d be lying if I said I haven’t bought a few more since!) I just love how well it plays with the colors in my new bracelets!
daffodils in the studio (and new bracelets on my wrist!)
I decided that this spring is going to be the year where I bring more cut flowers from my garden into the studio to enjoy there. That’s partly because my allergies make it hard to enjoy them outside, partly because they’re just beautiful in the studio, and partly because it lets me do fun photoshoots like this:
new colorful bracelets + waving hi from a safe distance!
Just popping in here to wave hi (from a safe distance of course) and share that I’m still having fun with GIFs and that I just dropped a batch of colorful bracelets in my online store!! Click here to check them out!
new colorful necklaces are coming soon!
I’ve been hard at work on lots of things behind the scenes, the biggest of which is photographing a new batch of colorful chain necklaces that I finished before my trip to Palm Springs!
I’m hoping to get these into my online store in the next week. My mailing list gets first dibs, so make sure you join my list so you don’t miss out!
what I’m reading: Palette Perfect
I mentioned in this post that since I’ve launched my new line of colorful jewelry, I’ve been thinking of myself as a collector of color palettes. Which is why I’m pretty excited about this book I just discovered, Palette Perfect.
Written by Color Collective founder Lauren Wager, this book features tons of color palettes sorted into moods like curiosity, playful, and mystery. I’m excited to use it to inspire some of my jewelry color palettes going forward, but I’m also using it to help with the branding of a new project I’m launching, Tractionable!
This book is full of visual inspiration, so whether you’re looking for some inspiration for your art or trying to get really clear on your brand, I’d highly recommend it!
