So I have to admit that, while I don’t love how early holiday stuff ends up in stores, I have no shame when it comes to decorating my house for the holidays already. Especially when it involves putting cute little faux trees in my stripy Elizabeth Benotti cup. (And rocking my silver on steel stacking rings with it!)
In case you aren’t familiar, #mugshotmonday is a hashtag on Instagram where potters and ceramic artists share their mugs. And while I’m not a potter (clay is too squishy, I’ll stick to metal, thanks) I am an avid collector of handmade ceramic mugs! So I decided that #mugshotmonday would be a good way to show off some of my favorites from my own collection, give a shoutout to some of my favorite makers, and show you how well handcrafted ceramics pair with my own handcrafted rings!
I mean, can’t you just imagine sipping your daily dose of caffeine from this lovely Bella Joy Pottery mug while rocking your silver on steel stacking rings?!
I thought I’d wrap up August by sharing one more pic from my trip to New York earlier in the month. One of my favorite parts of showing with other jewelry designers is seeing how my work plays with others! I especially love how my silver on steel bracelet looks with this Chikahisa Studio ring!
August has been such a whirlwind that I’m only now getting around to blogging about some of my travels! In the middle of the month, I spent a couple of days in New York City, showing my jewelry to wholesale buyers with a lovely group of fellow jewelry designers.
And even thought I was home for basically twelve seconds in the first half of August, I couldn’t resist designing a few new necklaces for the trip.
Thinking about fall yesterday made me want to cozy up with a cup of tea in a handmade mug. Especially when I’ve got a gorgeous handmade mug by Elizabeth Benotti that pairs so perfectly with my new silver on steel stacking rings! Which are available now in my online store!
This was a crazy month, but one of my favorite parts was heading to San Francisco for a few days. While I always love SF, I was especially happy to trade in the heat and humidity of Central PA summers for jeans, cardigans, and my favorite military jacket.
And now that August is heading for a close (and I’m back in the heat), I’m finding myself wistfully dreaming of sweater weather. In particular, I’m thinking about all the fun jewelry combos I can bring into fall, like the way my favorite casual summer combo (of a Contra pendant and giant circle earrings) works so well with a cozy cardigan.
Who says you can’t wear a statement necklace and big earrings at the same time? My friend (and amazing stylist) Stasia Savasuk has been rocking the Zoe Necklace and Extra Large Silver on Steel Circle Earrings for the past couple of months, and the combo always looks amazing. (And surprisingly not matchy-matchy!) I’m loving how she styled them with this dress!
I’ve been hard at work in the studio the past couple of weeks, working on a new batch of Contra Collection rings! (I know the sizes have been really picked over lately.) I’ll be showing them in person this weekend at the American Craft Council Show in San Francisco at Fort Mason Pavilion. (Booth 400 if you want to stop by and say hi!) But after I’m back, I’ll be putting the remaining rings into my online store!

I’ve been hard at work in my studio on a new batch of Contra Collection rings for ACC San Francisco. (You’ll find me in booth 400!) I’ve also been going through images of the Contra Collection to make some new show signage, and as I was doing that, I realized I’ve never shown some of my favorite images from the initial release of the Contra Collection here on the blog!
I wasn’t kidding when I said you can expect to see this hat popping up more often. Not only does it make the most fun photo prop, but I love how it makes my Contra Ring pop!
