In just a few weeks, many of my friends will be converging on Portland for the annual World Domination Summit, a conference for online entrepreneurs and unconventional living. Sadly, I won’t be there, but I was able to help my friend Brigitte plan some of her wardrobe. This is one of the outfits we came up with – it’s casual enough for a conference where the dress code isn’t always super fancy, but has enough style to make you feel good!

I originally was going to title this post “what to wear to dinner with the boss.” But then I remembered it’s more fun to be the boss. Which you totally could be in this outfit.

Last week was my husband’s birthday and, to celebrate, we met up with another couple at our local craft brewery. Dressing for that type of occasion can be tricky. The vibe at the brewery can be pretty casual. (I saw a whole group of girls in running shorts.) But it was my husband’s birthday, so I also wanted to look nice. This outfit slides nicely into that middle ground – dressy enough to look special but casual enough to not feel out of place.

I’m headed to San Francisco in a couple of weeks, and while it’s sunny and warm here in Pennsylvania, I know that June in San Francisco can be more than a little chilly. The solution is to layer it up with a cardigan for when the temps drop and a dress paired with leggings (which can always be discreetly ditched if the temp starts to climb).
