pop of yellow
I can’t help it. I really do love black, white, and grey. But adding a little pop of yellow takes this outfit to the next level.
1/ hooded wool coat // 2/ magpie leggings // 3/ ashley buchanan necklace // 4/ color block sheath dress // 5/ wings foldover clutch // 6/ block heel bootie
colorful coat
As winter drags on, it can be really easy to get stuck in a rut of black and grey. And while I LOVE black and grey, a pop of color, especially in the form of a cozy coat, can really do the trick when it comes to surviving the last days of winter.
1/ oversized coat // 2/ flippy skirt // 3/ december grey leggings // 4/ slouchy tee // 5/ cobble hill tote // 6/ adler tall boot
real world outfit: cozy and classic
It’s been really fun dreaming up fantasy outfits lately, but it’s just as fun to put together outfits in real life. This is an outfit I wore last week at NY Gift. The sweatshirt dress and leggings made the outfit super comfy to wear, but the style of the dress (plus the boots and jewelry) actually made for a classically chic outfit. Total win.
1/ leisure dress // 2/ royal leggings // 3/ alice necklace // 4/ saturday morning clutch // 5/ paige tall riding boots
dressed down ball skirt
I love a good ball skirt, and I’d love to make it my mission to find a place for one in my every day life. (Seeing as I spent most of the weekend in my sweats, I’m not sure that will happen soon.) I think the key is to keep it simple and use pieces that dress the skirt down. Like a chambray shirt and a fun scarf. Bonus points if you can master the half-tuck with the shirt.
1/ chambray skirt // 2/ ball gown skirt // 3/ celebration skinny infinity scarf // 4/ sling bag // 5/ highlight flat
London calling
Since yesterday I was dreaming of Paris, today I’ll just hop the train over to London. Where of course, it’s grayer and rainier. But I still love it.
1/ floppy hat // 2/ashley buchanan necklace // 3/ umbrella with crook // 4/ city suede tote // 5/ posie print tunic // 6/ magpie leggings // 7/ wool coat // 8/ adler tall boot
dreaming of Paris
It’s freezing and snowy here and I’m dreaming of spring. And since I’m dreaming, let’s make it spring in Paris. I can just imagine wearing this outfit, strolling through the Tuileries on my way to the Louvre. (Or perhaps the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, since I’m a sucker for any museum that displays both fashion and chairs!)
1/ je t’aime shirt // 2/ wallflower organza skirt // 3/ royal skinny statement scarf // 4/ stem shoulder bag // 5/ go-glitter flat
hit the books
There’s something about this outfit that makes me yearn for my grad school days, spending the weekend in the library, researching my thesis. (Which, for the record, I really loved doing.) It would also work for a lazy Saturday morning, strolling a museum. (Which I’m also a fan of!)
chunky knit sweater // leather messenger bag // chelsea boots // aires scarf // remnant leggings
simple and chic
It’s my last day in New York for the gift fair, and by the end of a show, I’m always looking for outfits that look great but are super comfy. I think this fits the bill. Plus, Cole Haan boots always make show-tired feet feel better. Always.
leather trim cape // adler tall boots // droplet post earrings // h&m dress // december grey leggings
how to be mistaken for a celebrity
This look is for when you want people to confuse you for a celebrity in an airport. Don’t forget to add unwashed hair, a mildly annoyed expression, the latest smartphone, and an entourage for maximum effect.
Or, you could just wear this to your favorite bar on Saturday night.
chunky knit beanie // buckle boots // leather jacket // audrey sunglasses // mia bracelet // multi-strand bracelet // rocco duffle bag // v-neck tunic top // magpie leggings
