Yes, we’re onto part four of my “Trista in the garden” posts, but I have so many great images to share! I love the drama in these images and the way Trista literally embraced this massive monstera leaf.
Trista in the garden, part 3
Portraits with plants started because I was joking with someone about hiding behind plants in photos. So of course, I had to take a few pics of Trista behind this epic leaf.
Trista in the garden, part 2
Ok, so I know these first few images don’t technically look like they were taken in a garden, but I promise, they were. They are a walkway behind the waterfall in the garden of the Opryland Hotel. Because while I do love plants, I do also love some good decorative ironwork!
Trista in the garden, part 1
I’m visiting my cousin in Nashville this week and couldn’t resist roping her into my portraits with plants project and photographing her wearing my jewelry in the gorgeous indoor gardens of the Opryland hotel. We took so many pictures, so this is part one of several more posts coming! And if you want to recreate Trista’s look, the Petale Earrings and Petite Modular Necklace No. 1 in bronze are both available in my online store!
new glasses + new neon jewelry = new portraits with plants
I recently got new glasses, my first pair of progressives (let’s not call them bifocals) and that plus the fact that I’ve been playing with some new neon chain designs just screamed for some new portraits with plants.
bronze necklace and burgundy dress
One of my favorite things about the Modular Collection is that you can play with the length by adding on chain extenders. The image above features a Petite Modular Necklace No. 1 in bronze and the images below feature a Petite Modular Necklace No. 3 in bronze, both with a 2 1/2″ chain extender!
one silver chain necklace, four different lengths
I had an idea for this photoshoot that I’m referring to as “French librarian walks into a greenhouse” vibes, but it was also the perfect opportunity to show off the Petite Modular Necklace No. 1 + chain extender in four different lengths!
in the garden with a burgundy dress and bronze jewelry
I bought this dress on a whim a couple of years ago, and it sat in my closet until this spring when I threw it on to go to a wedding. Since then, I’ve been in love with it. I wore it in the studio to photograph the new bronze Modular Necklaces. And I couldn’t resist wearing it in my backyard one morning to do another round of portraits with plants!
long chains and leafy plants
One of my favorite things about the Modular Collection is that you can connect different pieces together to have even more options. Like this long silver necklace, which is really the original Modular Necklace No. 1 connected to the new Midi Modular Necklace No. 1.
self-portraits with my plant wall
I’ve been a little obsessed with pinning portraits of people with plants on Pinterest. I came across some images of a woman standing in front of a wall of WallyGro planters and I thought, “hey, I have a wall like that in my studio!”
I originally planned to just take pictures in front of the wall with my Modular necklaces, but I couldn’t resist getting a little closer to one of my favorite plants, the Monstera adonsonii!
