Who says back to school style has to be just for kids? This outfit could work if you’re a teacher or busy mom. And it’s great for transitioning your summer office style into fall. Or if, like me, you just happen to like that back to school season gives you another excuse to shop for new clothes. (Even if you haven’t been in a classroom in a while.)
And can I just say how much I love blushes and creams as a color palette? Paired with grey, they’re a much fresher neutral alternative to boring khakis, tans, and beiges.
1/ frill shell top // 2/ cropped trousers // 3/ knit cardigan // 4/ amy necklace // 5/ nina flat
This is the perfect outfit to go from a day at work to meeting someone over drinks. (I’ll let you decide on the someone.) If your work doesn’t let you wear jeans (or it’s not casual Friday) you can always swap the denim for dress pants or a great skirt during the day and toss on the jeans before you hit the town!
1/ rose garden print top // 2/ slim fit boyfriend jeans // 3/ boxy blazer // 4/ daphne necklace // 5/ sequence ring // 6/ pensive pointed high heels
This simple but dressy look would be perfect for a nice brunch, meeting the parents, your cousin’s wedding – pretty much any event where need to be dressed up and a little on the conservative side (but still feeling stylish). Toss on a blazer and you could make it work for the office too.
1/ frill shell top // 2/ velvet scallop skirt // 3/ daphne necklace // 4/ corsica foldover clutch // 5/ patent leather slingback pumps
I’m not the type of person who really believes in fashion rules like “You can’t wear white after Labor Day.” But just in case you are that type of person, here’s a friendly reminder that you’ve only got a few weeks left to wear those white pants. (Labor Day is early this year.)
If wearing white pants to a picnic isn’t your thing (too much potential for grass stains and ketchup spills) try this option for wearing white pants to put together a chic office look.
The key to chic summer dressing is to keep it simple. (When it’s hot, you don’t want to be wearing a lot.) A classic but comfy dress, pretty flats, and a great necklace are all it takes to pull together a stylish summer look.
1/ easy t-shirt dress // 2/ daphne necklace // 3/ cassarino tote bag // 4/ nude pointed flat
From statement skirts to bright red pants, this week has certainly been about bold dressing. Today’s outfit is no exception.
When I’m not drawn to my default color palette of grey and black, my tendency is to go for teals and aquas. The color on this skirt is fantastic (and fits with my general rule of keeping bold colors on the bottom) and the black band makes defaulting to black (but not boring) accessories a no brainer.
1/ rose tank // 2/ color block skirt // 3/ amy necklace in black // 4/ wings foldover clutch // 5/ pentagon fragment ring // 6/ patent leather pumps
I’m not known for having the most colorful wardrobe. (Which isn’t surprising, given that my favorite color is grey!) But when I am inclined to wear color, I prefer to do it on the bottom. Wearing colored pants or a skirt (or even shoes) lets you experiment with colors you might be less comfortable wearing around your face.
The key with these bright red pants is to stick to really chic accessories so you end up looking like this and not like a clown.
1/ black sleeveless blouse // 2/ trento trousers // 3/ audrey necklace // 4/ skinny buckle belt // 5/ magpie foldover clutch // 6/ susan bracelet // 7/ black point toe pumps
Whether you’re trying to impress the client or looking to wow investors, this is the perfect power outfit. A professional dress with a great shape. Power heels. A touch of (understated) bling with a chain link necklace. You’re ready to nail it.
1/ belted dress // 2/ amy chain link necklace // 3/ wellspring foldover clutch // 4/ amy chain link bracelet // 5/ mary jane courts
Ever since I created my newest jewelry line, I’ve been into pairing bronze necklaces with similarly colored tops. Now, don’t get me wrong. I still love the pop that comes from a great contrasting necklace. But I love how well these necklaces still work on days where you want to be a little more subtle.
1/ fern top // 2/ pale grey skirt // 3/ droplet post earrings // 4/ melissa necklace // 5/ pyramid link watch // 6/ cherlin pointy toe pumps
