Last week I learned that t-shirts and blazers were a trend, which is funny because I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago when I was putting together the new necklaces in the studio! Apparently, I’m ahead of the curve! (Though if we’re being honest, I really put the blazer on because I wasn’t wearing a bra and the t-shirt was a little sheer. Which I guess makes this the ultimate work-from-home look.)
new glasses + new neon jewelry = new portraits with plants
I recently got new glasses, my first pair of progressives (let’s not call them bifocals) and that plus the fact that I’ve been playing with some new neon chain designs just screamed for some new portraits with plants.
bronze necklace and burgundy dress
One of my favorite things about the Modular Collection is that you can play with the length by adding on chain extenders. The image above features a Petite Modular Necklace No. 1 in bronze and the images below feature a Petite Modular Necklace No. 3 in bronze, both with a 2 1/2″ chain extender!
block print kaftan and new rose gold threader hoop earrings
Last year, I was on the phone with my friend Brigitte and told her I was thinking about buying this block-printed kaftan from one of my favorite Indian brands, Anokhi. She replied, “I feel like you’d be living your best life in that.” Which is exactly how I felt wearing it at the beach this past week with my new Virage Threader Hoop Earrings in rose gold.
neon love: knit hat and hoop earrings
I’ve been on a bit of a neon kick, whether that’s plants or my new neon hoop earrings. So when NickiChicki rolled out these neon knit hats, I was more than a little excited. (Especially because I already own several of her hats.) I was a little worried that I wouldn’t have a chance to wear it this spring, but a few unseasonably cold days (plus coaching track outdoors) means I’ve been able to rock this hat on more than one occasion!
the perfect black and white dress in Palm Springs
It’s been more than a month since I came back from Palm Springs but I’ve still got some images to share. Like this gorgeous black and white dress I picked up on the trip and then photographed myself wearing at my hotel with the Ada earrings.
Palm Springs portraits
I spent the first week of February in Palm Springs. It was my first time on a plane since the start of the pandemic, which seems pretty appropriate because Palm Springs was actually the last trip I took before the pandemic started. (I was there about a week before everything in the US shut down.) A lot has changed since then – most notably my hair is MUCH longer – so I couldn’t resist recreating these images with the same kaftan and necklace, especially since I was staying at the same hotel.
in praise of a bold lip at home
If you’ve hung around here at all, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of the bold lip. It’s like an instant shot of energy for your face. Seriously. I was once at the end of a very exhausting day at a trade show and someone asked if we could take a picture. I said sure, just give me a second to put on some lipstick. I turned around and she was in shock. “It’s like magic. Your whole face just got brighter!” Yup, that’s the power of a bold lip.
But sadly, with all the mask wearing out in public (which I am 100% in support of) wearing a bold lip out of the house not only doesn’t have any affect, it just seems kind of silly. (Also, lipstick on the inside of your mask. Ew.) Enter, the bold lip at home.
a few more selfies (um, I mean headshots) from Savannah
This weekend I’m heading off on another adventure (one where I’ll hopefully have lots of new pics to share when I get back). But before I go, I thought I’d share a few more selfies from my trip to Savannah last month.
Now I know when someone says selfie, you tend to think of quick snaps on your smartphone. But when it comes to taking pics of myself when I travel, I like to go all in on more traditional headshots, product shots, or lifestyle shots. (Which I share a little more about in this post.)
seven unique pieces of jewelry to pack for your next tropical vacation
I’ve been sharing lots of images from my trip to Nevis in the Caribbean last month, but I thought it would be great if I really shared the jewelry I brought along for the trip! And what better way to share all that jewelry than with a video?!? (Which gave me the perfect excuse to do a little more plant shopping and styling, two of my favorite non-vacation activities and a perfect way to bring a bit of the trip home with me.)
Watch the video below for the jewelry I packed and what I love about each piece, then read on for links to all the jewelry in my online store!
