One of my secret ambitions is to own a summer camp. Perhaps it was too much time spent watching the original Parent Trap or reading that one Babysitters Club Super Special where they were all camp counselors, but as a kid, I was obsessed with the idea of summer camp. I even spent my time drawing maps of
imaginary summer camps I would one day own or attend.
As an adult, my fascination with summer camp hasn’t changed, though now I’d rather own a summer camp for grownups.
So it’s no surprise that my go to summer look might be described as modern camp counselor. I love shorts and a basic top for summer. Swap the tennis shoes for ballet flats, the whistle for a long necklace, and the clipboard for a clutch, and you’ve turned the camp counselor look from fashion victim to style icon.

If you couldn’t tell by now, I’ve got the long weekend and summer on the brain. One of my favorite things about summer is getting to wear shorts. (Even though I love clothes, I don’t always love being totally covered up. I’d rather rock shorts and a t-shirt over winter layers any day!)
