I’m spending the week in the Pacific Northwest, and in the spirit of that, I put together this outfit that’s perfect for a rainy day. The leggings and umbrella add little pops of color to any grey day.

One of the things I love about my new printed leggings is that they take a somewhat safe and simple outfit and give it an unexpected pop. The top, bag, shoes, and necklace scream uptown brunch to me, but the leggings add an unexpected pop that shows you’re just a little different. (In a good way.)

There’s something about this outfit that makes me yearn for my grad school days, spending the weekend in the library, researching my thesis. (Which, for the record, I really loved doing.) It would also work for a lazy Saturday morning, strolling a museum. (Which I’m also a fan of!)

I’m off to New York City this weekend (and for most of next week) and while it’s currently too cold for this look, I still think this is the perfect weekend getaway outfit. It’s cute and casual with lots of layers, perfect for a road trip to some tiny town for brunch and shopping.

And yes, there’s more than one bag. Because I’m a bit of a bag lady and there’s no way I could manage a weekend getaway without multiple bags.
